Tabu is a poetic and nostalgic film about memory, love, and colonialism. The film is divided into two parts. In the first part, we see the life of an elderly woman named Aurora, who lives in Lisbon with her maid, Santa. In the second part, we are taken back in time to colonial Africa, where Aurora had a love affair with a man named Ventura. The film is a beautifully crafted meditation on the way we remember and forget our past.
